Colorado Foothill Stories & Property Intelligence
Life, Land & Change in Colorado’s Foothills
Stories, property insights, and real-time county changes across Colorado’s mountain communities.
There’s More to This Than the View.
The foothills are full of old roads, forgotten places, changing communities, and stories that usually stay with the people who remember them.
Moss Rock is where I go looking for those stories. I dig through old newspapers, maps, records, photographs, and whatever else I can find to piece together what happened here.

How I Put A Story Together
Start With a Question
Usually something catches my attention. It might be an old road, a building, a name on a map, or something I’ve heard around town.
Dig Through the Records
I look through old newspapers, maps, photographs, public records, archives, and anything else that might help fill in the blanks.
Compare What I Find
Old stories do not always agree. I try to separate what can be confirmed from what has simply been repeated over the years.
Tell the Story
Once the pieces start coming together, I try to tell the story in a way that is accurate, interesting, and easy to follow.
